5 Important Tips For Decorating a Kid's Bathroom

If your child is lucky enough to have their own bathroom, you should take to properly decorate it with fun, energetic elements. Doing so will create a personalized environment for your child to enjoy. Let's face it, traditional or 'modern' styles of decor aren't very child-friendly. However, you can instantly create a more stylish and overall enjoyable bathroom by focusing on certain elements. In this post, we're going to reveal 5 tips for decorating a kid's bathroom.

Tip #1 - Bright 'N" Warm Color Palette

The colors of a bathroom can either make or break the decor. If you wish to create an attractive, child-friendly decor, you should stick with warm, bright colors with a natural energetic vibe. Have some fun with the color palette and don't be afraid to ask for input from your child. See what colors they like and try to incorporate them into the decor.

Tip #2 - Child-Friendly Vanity

If your child forced to use a step stool to reach the vanity sink? If so, then perhaps you should install a shorter vanity in the bathroom. There are dozens of vanities made specifically for kid's bathrooms. They look just like traditional vanities but with one major difference: they are much shorter so the child can reach them without a step stool.

Tip #3 - Towels

The towels in a bathroom will have a direct impact on the overall decor, especially if you wish to display them on a towel rod. Ideally, you want to choose a set of towels that matches the color palette of the bathroom. If you decorated the walls with a light green color, for instance, then perhaps you can choose a forest green for the towels. Keep the towels uniform with the rest of the decor to ensure they match and and flow naturally with your kid's bathroom.

Tip #4 - Wall Decorations

Of course, you shouldn't overlook the wall decorations in your child's bathroom. Once you've painted the walls in a warm color, go back and add some decorative accessories. Framed paintings, photos and artwork are all excellent ideas. However, it's important to remember that the ultimate goal is to create a "child-friendly" atmosphere, so choose appropriate items.

Tip #5 - Shower Bench

Adding a teak shower bench or chair to your kid's bathroom will serve both functional and aesthetic purposes. Whether you wish to place it inside or outside the shower is up to you.
