DIY Bathroom Decor Ideas

Creating an attractive bathroom decor is important to the overall function of this area. Without an attractive decor, you simply won't be able to fully enjoy it. The good news is that you don't have to spend an arm and a leg on expensive furnishings and furniture for your bathroom. With a little bit of ingenuity and some free time, you can transform your bathroom into a stylish, attractive area. Check below for some DIY bathroom decor ideas that anyone can use.

#1 - Wooden Barrel Storage

Let's face it, one of the biggest space-wasters in the bathroom are paper towels and toilet paper. Just a couple rolls of each can easily take up a whole vanity cabinet. So, what's the solution to storing paper towels and toilet paper? A better, more attractive option is to create shelves on your wall using the bottom portion of a wooden barrel -- see this Pinterest link. You can click on the link previously mentioned for more details on how to build it, but the basic idea is to cut out the bottom portion of a wooden barrel and attach it to the wall. Depending on your personal preference, you can also install additional wooden pieces to help create a more suitable storage area.

#2 - Mason Jars

Still tossing your toothbrush and toothpaste on the top of your bathroom vanity? If so, you should try making some neat holders for them using basic glass mason jars. Simply attach the mason jars to the wall in front of your vanity using a metal bracket. Once it's installed, you can place your toothbrush, toothpaste, floss and any other accessories you wish inside. These are wonderful accessories that are incredibly easy and cheap to make. All it takes is a metal bracket (purchased from your local home improvement store) and a glass mason jar.

#3 - Wall Tile

If you are really looking to give your bathroom a fresh new look, you may want to add tile over the walls. As long as your bathroom is relatively small, this project shouldn't require a lot of money or resources. In fact, you can choose to simply tile over a single wall or portion of a wall if you desire. The trick is to use a style and color of tile that matches your current bathroom decor. The end result will add a beneficial boost of character and aesthetics to your bathroom.
